Dedrick Brandes Stuber

Dedrick Brandes Stuber (1878-1954) was an American painter known for his California landscapes, seascapes, mountain landscapes, and desert scenes.  Born in New York, he attended the  Art Students League.  He studied with Charles J. Bridgman, Julian Onderdonck, and Clinton Peters and was influenced by Barbizon painters Camille Corot and Charles Francois Daubigny. The artist painted en plein air,  and his work is characterized by its earthy palette and emphasis on atmosphere. His work is in collections at the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, D.C., the Pasadena Art Museum, The Fleischer Museum of Scottsdale, Arizona, and the Irvine Museum.
