DeBeers (estb. 1888) is a diamond company and jeweler first founded as De Beers Consolidated Mines in 1888. The company is a leader in the exploration and mining of diamonds. In 1939, De Beers identified the industry’s first diamond grading system with the introduction of the “4Cs”. The De Beers Classic engagement ring is the iconic De Beers solitaire setting. The shank of the ring holds its solitaire diamond in a unique V shape, giving the diamond maximum light performance. In 2001, De Beers Diamond Jewelers was formed, and in 2005, the Talisman collection pioneered a new approach to jewelry design by using rough diamonds set uncut in a contemporary design.
