Dave Powell (b. 1951) is a contemporary American painter whose work combines old master and Renaissance techniques with contemporary science. He studied at the College of Wooster in Ohio and the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York.His work is characterized by its use of phthalo blue, an intense blue-green pigment to form representational images of city architecture, nature scenes, and figures in motion. He has exhibited in numerous galleries in Connecticut, Florida, and Oregon. His work is in collections of several major corporations, such as Aetna Insurance, Citibank, Delta Airlines, and GE, among others. The artist lives and works in Connecticut.
