Item Description:

A Complete Set of English Three Quarter Suit of Armor, ca. 1630,

Comprised of a four part bowl helmet with hinged pierced vents, pivoting rim visor having opened sights. Rear and crown of helmet has plume holder; two part bevor riveted to helmet. The broad gorget with leather straps attached to the breast plate having a central ridge attached by leather straps. Rolled at the neck and arm gussets having plate set leather straps and waist belt with arm defenses. The pauldrons with four upper lames with upper canons above articulated counter elbow guards and lower canons above articulated wrist and finger gauntlets. Each cuisse composed of 15 articulated lames including the knee cops. The rear culet having five lames attached with leather straps to the backplate raised on an antique oak pedestal base.

Condition:

Areas of restoration to leather straps and rivets. Commiserate with age.
