Caspar Ritter

Caspar Ritter (1861-1923) was a German painter known for his expressive portraits, nudes, and genre scenes.  He began his artistic training at the academy in Winterthur, followed by an apprenticeship at the Munich Academy of Arts. In 1877/1878, he  taught the class of figure painting at the Städel in Frankfurt. He later was appointed professor for portrait painting at the Academy in Karlsruhe. His works belong to many private collections and can be found at the Art Museum Winterhur.
