Cary Smith

Cary Smith (b.1955), born in Puerto Rico, is an American painter known for his amorphous and hard-edged geometric abstract paintings with vivid color interaction. He studied at Syracuse University Art School and lives and works in Hartford, Connecticut. He has had solo shows at the Aldrich Museum in Ridgefield, Connecticut and Derek Eller Gallery in New York, among others. His paintings have also been shown in group exhibitions at Madison Museum of Contemporary Art in Wisconsin, New Britain Museum in Connecticut, and the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York.
