Bucherer (estb. 1888) is a Swiss watch and jewelry company founded by Carl-Friedrich Bucherer. He and his wife opened Lucerne’s first watch and jewelry store in 1888. The company is both retailer and designer of watches and jewelry. In 1919, Carl Bucherer launched his first collection of Art Deco ladies’ watches. His sons, Ernst and Carl Eduard Bucherer, joined the family-owned company in the 1920s. The company later partnered with with Hans Wilsdorf, the founder of Rolex, in 1924. Today, Rolex is one of House of Bucherer's most important partner. The brand Carl F. Bucherer, formed in 2001, continues the watchmaking tradition established in 1919.
