Brian Sindler (b. 1957) is a contemporary American plein air painter and etcher of figurative and landscape art. Born in Chicago, he studied at Columbia College in Missouri, the American Academy of Art in Chicago, and the School of Representational Art in Chicago. After graduating, he focused on landscape painting and most of his work during this period is Impressionist in style. He later began exploring a more tonalist style that had a contemporary sensibility while some of his later paintings were closer to the American Tonalism style of the late 19th and 10th century. He has exhibited widely in individual and group shows and has been a regular exhibitor at the Salmagundi Club in New York.
