Berto Lardera

Berto Lardera (1911-1999), born in La Spezia, was a 20th century Italian sculptor known for his monumental metal sculptures in iron, bronze, stainless steel, copper, and aluminum. His pieces are characterized by two-dimensional planes intersecting in three dimensions.  His interest in planes also led him to create sculptural prints where he cut forms into thick iron plates and pulled prints from these metal blocks. Some of his monumental sculptures can be viewed in public spaces such as Grenobles Conservatoire National de la Région and Berlins Hansa district.
