Alfred Jean Foretay

Alfred Jean Foretay (1866-1944) was a Swiss artist known for his figure, genre, landscape paintings, and sculptures. Born, in Morges, France, he left in 1877 for Paris, where he attended Ecole des Beaux-Arts and was a student of Falguières.  He mainly produced Art Nouveau style statues in bronze or spelter. He exhibited his portraits, busts, and statues at various salons. He also received an honorable mention in 1891 and a gold medal in 1904 while attending the Paris Salons.
