Alexander Dzigurski (1911-1995) was a Serbian painter, born in Stari Becej, Yugoslavia. He studied at Belgrade's School of Art and in 1936 graduated from the Academy of Art in Munich, Germany. Upon completion of his studies in Germany, he returned to his native country and focused on portraiture and then later sacred painting. In 1949, he emigrated to the United States and later traveled the United States, Canada, and Europe. During that time, he painted ocean views and landscapes. His work in on permanent display at the Ford Museum in Detroit.
